I'm Baaaaaack!

HERE I AM! Just as I promised! You're in for it, so prepare yourself.

Let me see…spring break was two weeks ago? While on break I painted and painted and painted our house. Painted the kitchen (which I showed you), painted our computer room, hallway, and all of the bedroom doors in the hallway (which consisted of 6 total). Wood doors do not take to white paint very well. Did 3 coats on each door and they're still streaky. Oh well…I'm over it! They look decent and white if you don’t stare at them up close ;) That weekend we bought a new entertainment center and lamp for the living room. Our house looks so much better now than it did a month ago and I'm thrilled!

The next weekend we went camping again <3

I had been working on making a digital story for one of my classes and we were assigned to do it about us. Either a short story about ourselves or something that has changed us, so I decided to do mine about camping! I needed some extra shots, so it was convenient that the weather was perfect to go camping that weekend because it was due on Sunday! I got what I needed and we had a fantastical time. Anyways...here's my digital story!

I can't wait to go again! We'll only have one more chance before hunting season officially ends on April 21st. I really wanted to go this weekend but Easter is on Sunday and we have to be home for family breakfast and dinner. Bummerrrrr. Especially because the weather this weekend is supposed to be like PERFECT. Not to mention on the backend of the full moon which always means the animals are out and about! Ugh. Oh well. Hopefully there will be another beautiful weekend coming up soon! Speaking of full moons…I just looked at a full moon calendar for the year to see when it would be full next month (just to see if we could get in our camping trip around then, but it's too late). Howeverrrrr, the date for June's full moon is ON MY BIRTHDAY! Happy birthday to me, from the moon! Eeeep!

In other news…my sister is EIGHT WEEKS AWAY from her due date. EIGHT WEEKS PEOPLE! That little boy is going to be here so soon, but it doesn't quite feel real! I can't believe I'm going to be an aunt! I'm going to have a little nephew! Her baby shower is in just a couple weeks and it should be interesting…to say the least! My mother has had control of planning the entire thing. She asked if I wanted to help and I said no…only because I'm pretty busy with school…and the fact that I pretty much planned/hosted her entire bridal shower (which was fun), but it kind of sucked because I didn't really get to hang out or participate in the games! So I'm looking forward to this one more because I'll get to enjoy it and hang out with everyone more!

School is going well. I have A's in both of my online classes and currently have an A in my math class, but I'm a little worried about that grade dropping in the upcoming week. We have our second (and last) test on fractions next Monday and I'm not too sure how good I'm going to do. We had a homework assignment on it and I got it back today and got 14/24. Not very good…I'm hoping after class on Wednesday I'll feel a little bit better about it all. I guess we'll see.

I'm in the process of registering for summer (and hopefully fall) courses. I've had my classes for both semesters in my "shopping cart" for about a month now. Had it all planned out…3 online classes in the summer and 4 classes in the fall, 3 on campus and 1 online. But when I went to register on my "registration appointment" time (at 9:00 PM), one of my classes for the summer is closed (which means there aren't any more seats available), and the other I had to get permission for. So right meow I'm only technically registered for ONE CLASS this summer which is NOT OKAY. I emailed my advisor for some help and she directed me to some other person about the class I needed permission for. She was very helpful and told me that the class is actually unavailable to register for at all right now, until April 4th. Then on April 4th, she claims I won't need permission to register for it. Hmm. We'll see about that. As for the other class, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it. It's closed right now and there isn't a wait list for me to get on (which is stupid and sucky). There was only one other time for it, on the main campus, but it was until like 3:50 which wouldn't have worked since I have to be at work by 2. It doesn't even matter now because that one is closed too. I don't know what I'm going to do about it. I really don't want to have to add it to my already full schedule for the fall because I'm afraid that it would take a toll on my grades. I mean, I guess if I have no choice, all I can do is try my very best. If it's anything like the class I'm in now (I say this because they're both TSL courses), I think I might be able to handle it, especially if I can take it online. Only time will tell, I suppose.

This past weekend was nice. I spent the majority of the afternoon on Saturday doing my own thing. I laid in the sun for about an hour and got a nice start to my tan. Then I worked in the yard for another hour (and got some more sun that turned into a slight sunburn…oops!). After I got cleaned up, I went to Savannah's little sister's birthday party for a little bit. When I got home, I spent the remainder of the evening with my V and it was wonderful. On Sunday, we went out to the coast in the morning and visited some manatees at Haulover canal <3

Manatee noses!

We got home in time to relax a bit before a nasty storm rolled through. I don't know why, but something told me to bring all of our patio furniture into the screened porch and I'm thankful that I did, otherwise it would have been a huge mess in the backyard! This fast-moving storm came through and gave us some nasty rain, thunder, lightning and HAIL! It blew down part of our fence, and knocked down one of our neighbor's trees. It fell right into the road and blocked like 75% of our street. No one lives in the house, so I took it upon myself to figure out who to call to get it out of the road. Within an hour of calling the appropriate persons, the cops showed up and got to work. I'm not quite sure what they did, but a fire truck came by too. The cop car was still outside when we went to bed (like 5 hours later), and when I woke up this morning to leave for school, all they did was move it into the driveway of the house it was in front of. There's still a ton of debris in the road which I'm not impressed with. I don't know why they couldn't take the extra like 30 minutes and sweep all the shit up. Whatevs, I guess I should just be happy they moved it out of the street!

Work has been great lately. I'm so happy with this job. I think the only thing that could make it better is if I was making a bit more money. I really can't complain though because I don't get paid too terribly for sitting on my ass, answering phone calls that come in periodically (especially towards the end of the day), and occasionally booking a conference room or two.

I started watching The Vampire Diaries on Netflix at work and I've fallen in love! It's like Twilight, but with a bit of a different plot, different characters, and a tv show instead of a movie (so it's longer and more detailed). It's quite good though! It's a nice break after doing homework for 3 hours. Only 4 more weeks left in this semester and then I'm free for like 2 weeks before the summer semester starts! Woooooo! On that note, I'm going to bid you adieu. Until next time (which will hopefully be sooner rather than later).

Post Coming...I Promise!

I'm sorry I've neglected you, blog! Today at work I'll be writing a nice detailed post of what I've been up to since spring break, I promise! I'll put a reminder in my phone to post it tonight when I get home from work!

This is V's face when the sun is shining in his eyes and I'm forcing him to smile. Lol <3

Spring Break = House Painting!

Half way through my spring break and our house is looking SO much better! Two Fridays ago V had the day off and we spent the morning painting our living room/dining room/Florida room. It all looked sooo nice, but I noticed the baseboards were all sad looking so this past Sunday, I spent my entire afternoon painting all of the baseboards and door trims in the front half of the house, AND the front door! It's really amazing what some white paint will do to an old house. The baseboards look so much cleaner and having the front door (and I got carried away and did the hallway door too, just to see how much of a difference it would make) white makes the front half of our house look so much more modern! So when my spring break started on Monday, I repainted the kitchen to match the rest of the front of the house:

I have to say - I'm very pleased with how much cleaner it looks. I just wasn't feeling that blue anymore! Then yesterday I started painting our little bedroom where the computer is (the saaaame color as everything else we've painted). I ran out of paint about half way through and quit for the day because it was near the time I needed to start getting ready for work.

This morning I went to my mani/pedi and on my way home I stopped at Home Depot to pick up another gallon of the gray paint. I finished what was left of the little bedroom in about 40 minutes and I'm so happy with how much better the room looks. I have to go over the trim again because it got a little streaky, but I'll do that tomorrow and repaint the trim baseboards in here too. Then Friday V (hopefully) has the day off too, so I want to spend it painting all of the bedroom doors, and the hallway gray to match the rest of the house!

Hooray for spring break productiveness!

Prescription Sunglasses & an Olympic Swimmer

Oh blog, I'm sorry I've been neglecting you this year. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I hope you will accept my apology!

This morning I woke up and went to the eye doctor to pick up my new prescription sunglasses. They're SO nice to have! I've never had a nice pair of sunglasses so this is quite the treat. They're the right prescription, polarized, and COACH! Ballinnnn

For the past two days at my office, Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has been visiting with one of our attorneys. I wanted to get a picture with him so bad, but I couldn't bring myself to ask him! Oh wellz!

SPRING BREAK IS ALMOST HERE!!!!!!! Monday will officially kick it off and I'm thrilled! I've got a list of things I want to get done around the house, and I made an appointment in the middle of the week to redeem an old LivingSocial coupon I got for a mani/pedi! I also took off Friday because I want to go to the beach, but I don't have a clue what the weather is supposed to be like. Who cares, either way, next weekend I have a three day weekend! Woo!!!!

We're going camping this weekend - maybe our last time for a while. I'm excited but it's going to be REALLY cold when the sun goes down. The weatherman says the low Saturday night is like 38 or something. Brr.....I'll survive though, V is really warm!

Sorry I'm a Slacker!

I don't know what has been going on lately but I've been really neglecting you, blog! I've honestly been really busy with school this week...I've had a group project in BOTH of my online classes which I've had to take the lead in. So I've been really busy making sure everyone was getting their shit done AND taking place of our assigned "coordinator" because she apparently didn't see the group I created, or the discussion I started, explaining things to everyone and making sure they all understood what they were supposed to be doing. Oh not to mention doing my part of the project along with another girl's because she claimed she couldn't figure out how to add her PowerPoint slides to our new Google Presentations doc. Really? If you can't figure that out, why are you taking an online class? Or rather, you SHOULD know how to do that if you've decided to take an online class...or at least be smart enough to figure it out - it's not that hard. I had never used Google Presentations, but it didn't take me more than 2 minutes to figure out everything I needed to start a new project. Whatever...I guess not everyone can be quite as smart as yours truly. Ha.

Don't let me fool you, I'm not that smart. My math class is kicking my ass this week. We just started our section on fractions and I'm not joking or speaking lightly when I say I fucking hate fractions. I've never understood them and I had given up on trying a year ago when I finished my last math class at Valencia and thought I wouldn't have to take one at all while studying at UCF. I was wronggggg. I missed the first class on fractions on Monday when I thought we had President's Day off, so I already felt like I was somewhat behind before even starting on Wednesday. We didn't even do that much and I don't think anything I learned was anything I wasn't taught in middle or high school...it's definitely something I should have known. I just never understood it when I was taught it in the first place but somehow I always seemed to get by. Hopefully I'll be as lucky this time, maybe it will actually be the last! Ugh. So that's how I'll be starting my week.

As for this weekend? Saturday V played golf and I cleaned the house and did yogs. We met up at home around lunch time and went to pick up the boat. Pick it up from where, you ask? Well I don't know if I told you already, but the last (and first) time we (I) went out on it, it cracked at some point. It started leaking with a crack about a finger's length in the back...on the bottom. Luckily we brought some sponges to soak up any water, but towards the end of the trip, pretty much all V was doing was driving the boat or soaking up water with the sponge. Well when we got it home, V took off the support on the back (transom) to find some pretty gnarly holes in the fiberglass. Sweeeet. :x We called up the guy we bought it from and brought it back for him to fix on Wednesday. We were hoping to get it back by Saturday afternoon so we could take it out on Sunday morning and we did! We picked it up yesterday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised at how good everything looked (or seemed.....). We put on the new chairs we had so the ride would be more comfortable before we parted ways for the night.

Earlier in the month, I agreed to co-host Abby's 11th birthday party/sleepover so that's how I spent my Saturday night! I enjoyed being able to see the difference in her friends. Last year she was at a public school and her friends were awful. They were mean, judgmental, and poor mannered. At the beginning of this year they started at a private school so I knew her friends would be different. They were still crazy because they're 11 year old girls - I was there at one point and it's kind of cool to be reminded of it in such a real way. I've known Abby since she was 3. I didn't have any little sisters so I never got to experience the development from such a young age. Anyways, her friends this year were so much nicer than they were last year. It was refreshing to see a group of such well behaved and polite girls.

Anyways, we both got home late last night and planned to wake up at 6am to take the boat out on the river again. The alarm went off at 6 and I did NOT want to get up. V was enthusiastic enough to get out of bed and convinced me to get up not too long after. We headed out right around 6:30, stopped to get some live bait, and got to the boat ramp around 7:25. We unloaded the boat into the water. V parked the truck and I held the boat on shore. When he came back, I went to the truck to get some stuff to bring on the ride (camera, ID, phone, license and sunglasses). I got back to the boat and V had just started cranking the engine. He pulled it around 12 times and on the next, when he pulled out the rope to like start it, it didn't go back in. He got it manually turned back in only to pull it out again to the same thing, except this time he couldn't even get it back in manually. Around 7:50 we loaded the boat back into the truck and headed home. *enter disappointment before 8am*

When we got home we both crashed on the couch, discouraged to say the very least. We ended up sleeping until noon and have had a blah covered sky hovering over since we woke up. It was an omen. I should have convinced V to stay in bed! Oh wellz. It's over now. We had dinner with his parents and we both seem to be in a bit of a better mood...for now anyways. I'm on a wedding planning cloud at the moment and I intend to stay on it into my dreams.

Time for a fresh week with a better, more promising start. Must.stay.positive!

Next week we're planning to camp and there will not be anything getting in the way of those plans...guaranteed!

President's Day Whoopsie!

Last Wednesday in my math class, my professor told us there was no school on Monday (President's Day)! Woo! I made plans to spend the morning with my sister, so she came over with her dog to play with Lacey and we went out to get some groceries! I got lots of fresh fruit (grapes, strawberries, bananas, a peach, and an avocado!) and some meat. We hung out until I left for work and it was wonderful to spend time with her. I enjoyed it v much! Annnd I got to wear my cutie new polkadot sweater to work!

Well tonight, whilst watching Pretty Little Liars, I remembered that I had some lame homework assignment to turn in for my math class tomorrow! When I checked my email for the link - I actually read the email he sent that I only scanned over last Wednesday (saw the link and then closed the email, putting it off til later) it said something along the lines of "sorry for the confusion, but there will be class on Monday". D'oh! I sent him an email and told him what happened and that I totally didn't mean to miss class! Oh wellz! It was way more fun to hang out with Lindsey anyways!

Fire to End a LOVErly Weekend

For realz. This weekend was wondrous.

I was burry cold!
