FRIDAY! YAY!

Today is Friday, for those of you who didn't know...and it's also the last day of SEPTEMBER. OMG! Tomorrow starts a new month, and brings us that much closer to yet another new year. My goodness how time flies. Seriously. I feel like I just had my birthday, and now it's almost halloween! I've got to get to work on my costume! I had it coming along, but I started working on it again yesterday and after I added the whites to the ears:

I realized how bad it looked...all crooked and not round. So I'm starting over. But it's going to be awesome and I can't wait! I think this year I'm going trick-or-treating with my cousin in her parents neighborhood because I have a feeling we'll get a lot of good candy because there are a lot of kids in her neighborhood! Hollerrrr!

This morning I woke up with V at 6:40 and started laundry. That's right, I woke up just to do laundry. Because at 9:40 I had to leave for school and after school I was going to hang out with my bestest friend and see my gorgeous god daughter! I knew I wouldn't be back til later in the day and I wanted to make sure all the laundry got done, so I started it early. And all but one load was done before I left to go to school. SUCCESS! However, when I got home, I went outside to get the clothes off the line and V's golf shirt (which was the main reason why I had to do laundry in the first place, so it would be clean for his golf tourney tomorrow), had fallen off the line and got all dirty. So now I have to wash that again!

We didn't get assigned any homework in math which I'm thrilled about! I just need to work on glossing my fable for ASL because it's due next week.

1 Year Yogaversary!

That's right, folks, today marks my ONE YEAR anniversary of doing yoga! I've done it at least twice a week for the last year (maybe missing two weeks at the very most!). I'm thrilled with how I feel, and how much I still love it a whole year later. Just imagine how I'll look another year from now! YAY ME!!!!

Eyebrows

I've decided to grow my eyebrows out and re-shape them. I really love my left one looks in this picture. And I say left, because my right did not look the same. It wasn't terribly different, but it wasn't the same and I didn't like it as much! 

So I decided to grow them out and when they've gotten too out of control, I'm going to get them professionally waxed from one of my sister's friends who does her brows. I freaking love the shape of that brow!

The Carol Days Are Over

That couple from last weekend actually showed up this weekend...and they left with little ol' Carol.

I'm quite sad, and I have to admit, I shed a tear after she was gone. I'm going to miss that little shit. This is the last picture I took of her, it was just this afternoon, right after the kitchen rug got out of the dryer, she decided to sleep on it <3

She was a damn cool dog, and I'm very happy she came into our lives, even for just a month and a week. I'll never forget her!

Today I got my ass handed to me at yoga. I didn't eat before (I usually eat a Fudge Graham Zone Bar 1 hour before class), and I was starving like 15 minutes into class! I had like no energy and it just wore me out! Now I'm sitting on the couch, watching Tia&Tamera. I freaking love this show! I just started watching it like 3 weeks ago and I'm lovin' it!

CAROL!

This girl texted me yesterday evening about Carol. She got my number from the flyer I posted at my yoga studio and seemed THRILLED about Carol. She wanted to come meet her today at 7pm, and was planning on taking her home. So this morning we went to Winter Park for this car show that my dad's car was in, and I brought Carol. Afterwards we stopped at Jeremiah's Italian Ice to get some ice! We got Carol a pup cup with some vanilla soft serve.

She LOVED it! I figured I wanted to spend some quality time with her today, since she would be leaving for good tonight.

Well around 1:30 this afternoon, the girl texts me and gives me this whole story about how she doesn't think its the right time to get her because it'll be later in the evening, then they'll be working all week, so she feels like she won't have enough bonding time to spend with her before her work week starts. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Whatever. 

While we were at the car show, however, this family seemed really interested in her, so I told her about the couple (before they bailed), and got her number so I could text her in case it didn't work out. And it didn't, so I texted the lady, and told her about it, and she said she'd talk it over with her husband and let me know. They seemed to LOVE her, and she mentioned that they were going to the humane society afterwards to look for a dog. Hopefully that works out, because they seemed like a perfect fit for Carol!

I sure will miss her when (or IF!) she leaves us!

Beach!

This morning we went to the beach for a little while. It was lovely!

1st Math Test

Today I took my first math test and I don't feel super great about it. We'll see how I did when I go back to class next week. Whatevs! The week is over now!

Vacation Savings!

We're going on vacation next month with V's family and we finally started saving! Exactly one month before we leave, ha! I'm putting all my babysitting earnings, in the jar, and V is contributing whatever he can, whenever he can. Like this weekend, instead of going golfing, he's putting the money he would be spending on golf into the jar! Yay! I'm proud of us because we're not good at saving. Like at all. So hopefully this will work, and we'll actually be able to enjoy our trip!

I decorated the jar with random pictures from magazines (yes, that's a squirrel!). So far we have $20 and some change, lol. Better than nothing!

I've been looking at USF's website like all morning. Cost of attendance, visiting the campus, department of communication sciences and disorders. I emailed the advisor for the department and asked a bunch of questions, and I think we're going to try and plan a trip to visit the campus sometime next month. This is like a HUGE step in a totally different direction than what I've planned for so many years, and I'm scared, but oddly excited. It's so different. 

Change of Major

OMG. Today after my ASL class, I stayed after to tell my professor that I'd be missing a day in October. She told me it was no big deal and not to worry about it. Then she asked me what I was majoring in, so I told her "elementary ed" and she looked me in the eyes, put both hands on my shoulders and told me I need to be an interpreter. She can see it in me that that's what I should be. She was like "you might not see it, but I do, and I know you'd be great at it". Then she pointed out how much more money I'd be making and how much happier I'd be. Then she told me to come back at 11:15 so we can talk more. So I left and thought about it nonstop until I went back to meet her. She wrote out a schedule for my next three semesters at Valencia and told me exactly which classes to take, and that after I was done I could either go to USF or UNF. USF is a lot closer and I don't want to move, so I'd have to commute like twice a week (an hour and a half one way). But it would only be for two years. Then she told me that if I didn't do it, I would regret it and after being burnt out three years after I start teaching, I'd be cursing myself, wishing I had listened to her. So I'm doing it. After I left her office, I went and filled out a "change of major" form and turned it in. OMG.

I had been second guessing teaching ever since my sister started. Not because of her classes or anything, because of the whole school system. So when she said that to me, it was like a sign. No one has ever said anything like that to me, so it means a lot. Especially because I'm not very good, but I guess I look better than I think, and I look like I have a lot of potential. Holy cannoli. I'm terrified. Everything is so different right in this moment than it was 24 hours ago. I had been planning to be a teacher for at least the last 5 years now, and all of a sudden, it's all changed. Not that I can't change my mind back to being a teacher, but I think this is what's supposed to happen. If I miss being around kids, I can be a teacher for little Deaf kiddies <3

I'm excited and scared and so many other emotions all at the same time, but they're all good. Even the scary ones. Holy crap. 

What a day! And it's not even over! Who knows how awesome yoga is going to be tonight because of how my day has been. I told my dad that maybe I'll teach Deaf yoga one day. He giggled. But I was serious. How awesome would that be? Challenging, yes, but so rewarding. 

I need to take a breather and stop. Take in everything that has happened today and sit on it.

Unemployment

When I was getting unemployment at the beginning of this year, they called me to find out where I had been applying. So I told them a few places, and said one place offered me a position, but it conflicted with my school schedule, so I had to deny it. Then they told me that the money I had gotten from them for a few months, I didn't deserve (?) so I had to pay them back. $800 to be exact. And they expect me to pay it back how? Knowing that I'm UNEMPLOYED? I got a few letters in the mail from them, stating that I owed it, but never told me how much of a minimum payment I could make, and there was NEVER a due date. Then, late last week, I got a letter saying that I have 20 days from the date of the letter to pay the entire balance, or they're sending me to a collections agency. The letter was sent out August 31st, and I got it like last Tuesday or something. So I have like less than a week to pay it? Yeah, OKAY!

So I tried calling them today to see if I could get on a payment plan, and of course, there were no available representatives to talk to me, and apparently I CAN'T HOLD, it just tells me to try back later, and hangs up. GREAT. I'm just annoyed, and wanted to vent. Normally, I would just send V a text message, telling him how annoyed I am, but his phone isn't working. Which totally sucks. Ugh!

But at least I've finished my economics homework for the week. Now I'm relaxing, watching SVU, and eating my lunch.

EcoNOmics

I'm taking Basic Economics this semester and it's stupid. I don't like it at all and it requires way more effort than I was expecting and wanting to put into it. Like the homework isn't too bad, but I have to read the chapter to understand how to do it (and we all know how I feel about reading, unless it's Twilight related). I have two homework assignments in eco, and I just finished one of them.

I'm about to start the second, and then I'm going to maybe finish my humanities homework so I'll be homework free for the rest of the week. Aside from one problem I need to finish for my math class, and look over my homework to make sure I understand remember it all, because we have a test on Friday.

I just got two mosquito bites on my legs. One on my right knee and the other on my left thigh. I thought I saw a mosquito flying in the hallway earlier this morning, but then I thought maybe it was just a piece of dust flying around. Def a mosquito and I def just sprayed myself with

Shit smells good! And it doesn't leave your skin all oily! Hooray!

Family Photo & Halloween Costume

Sarah's birthday dinner.

Today I have a whole lot of nothing to do. I think I'm going to clean the house. Like really good. And maybe even clean up in the back (porch/deck/yard), and maybe wash my car. We were thinking of having everyone over tomorrow afternoon to do a last swimming day/bbq of the summer! Ahh! I can't believe it's already September and that next month will be October and you know what happens when October gets here. Everything zooms by my face. Vacation, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years. Yikes! I'm excited though. Especially because when October comes, my job starts for good, so I'll have money! YAY!

Also, I just decided what I'm going to be for halloween. Chococat. I wasn't sure I could pull something off that would beat my costume last year, and even though this one might not, I'm still super excited about it. It's unique and hilarious and I <3 Chococat! I Google-d "chococat halloween costume" and only ONE popped up, and it's perfect. Exactly what I was looking for:

Thursday Stuff

This morning I went to the mall with my sister and bought her a birthday present. We spent a few hours shopping, and then she brought me home. I went grocery shopping at Walmart, and enjoyed a refreshing and delicious root beer

and then to Publix to get some things that Walmart doesn't have (fresh salmon, spinach, V's deodorant, Arnold Palmer in a big jug, and lemon herb butter).

By the time I got home from all of that, it was already 2 o'clock. I planned on doing all of my homework today, so I had to start right away if I wanted to finish. I spend about 2 hours on my humanities homework, and it's all done, but now I have economics. Although...I'm not quite sure if what I have is actually homework, because in our syllabus, on our course schedule, it says there isn't any homework due until the last week of September. I emailed my professor and asked her about it, and I'm really having a hard time beginning to work on it, because I don't think it's actually due this week (or next, for that matter!).

So I decided to blog, and then I'm probably going to sit on the couch and watch something I have recorded from earlier this week (either Kate Plus 8, or What Not to Wear).

Tomorrow is my sister's birthday...she's going to be 29! V is off, but I have class until almost 1. My sister invited us to swim with her, her significant other, and maybe some of her friends, and I'd like to go! I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for summer to end. I don't feel like it lasted long at all this year. Although, I don't feel like anything really lasted very long this year. Time has flown by. You know next month, it'll be 1 year since I started my yoga practice at OPY? ONE YEAR. I'm not quite ready to give up my shorts (especially because I just got a really cute pair a couple weeks ago), tank tops, bathing suits, and swimming just yet. I know the weather won't actually start changing for another few months, but who knows. Our first "cold front" of the season might come out of nowhere! Sometimes I feel like it's different outside, like not as humid (which is REALLY NICE), and the breeze is a bit chilly. IDK, I have mixed emotions about this time of year right now.

Spacecowboy

Today I hung out with my sister, all day! After I got out of school, I picked her up and we hung out at my house for a while, then we went to yoga which was LOVELY! Then we went to dinner at Brio with my mom and it.was.delicious! :]

I'd post more, but we're watching Big Brother and they're about to compete in the Veto Competition and I don't wanna miss it!

Muffin Kick

The past 2 weeks I've been on a muffin kick. I made a batch of blueberry muffins two weeks ago and V and I enjoyed them all week long for breakfast! Then when we ran out, I made another batch, but I used a different recipe, because I thought the blueberry muffins would be good with a little cinnamon. So I got a cinnamon blueberry muffin recipe and I have to admit, it wasn't as good as the first batch, but we still enjoyed them. We have 2 of those muffins left still, but I'm bored this afternoon, and I looked up a recipe for cinnamon muffins (no blueberries left in this house!). I didn't want to have to go out and buy anything, and I had all the ingredients here for cinnamon muffins. The second batch (which is only 4), is in the oven now, just finishing up. I made 16 total and I just had one...they're super yummy! They remind me of winter, which is nice :]

This morning I went to Chick-Fil-A to get a free chicken biscuit for breakfast! After that, I stopped at Petco to buy Luna (my kitteh) a new bag of food. I changed her food the last time I got the dogs a bag, and she hates it, so I went back to her old brand and she's happy as a clam. After Petco, I went to FedEx to print out flyers for Carol.

I'm posting one in each bathroom at my yoga studio, hoping people will take my number & email address and someone will want her! She's getting to be toooooo much for this house!

After I printed those, I went to American Eagle and got a new sweater (for our trip to NC next month!), and two tank tops to go under the sweater. 

Now I'm home, debating on whether or not I want to do my homework. I don't really want to right now...I'd rather watch SVU, lol. 

I'm thinking about going through my closet and getting rid of the clothes I don't wear anymore because I have a lot. Too many, tbh. It's a little ridonk. 

Yesterday I made an ankle bracelet! Woo! Yeah, I'm 24...and wearing an ankle bracelet...you jealous?

Labor Day

I almost missed my update for the day! We spent our morning lounging at the house, then headed over to our friends house for a couple hours. Then we visited with V's parents, and after we left there, we went back over to our friends house for dinner. We I also helped them fill the top of their dining room table with beer bottle caps.

It looks pretty awesome. They're going to cover it with something, to keep it clean and such...they just don't know what they're going to use yet.

Today I gave my sister a french braid headband to match mine. I'm becoming quite the braiding pro, if I do say so myself!

College Mathematics Day 1

Well. This morning I went to my first day in my new math class. I was really nervous about it last night...mostly because I don't feel like I learned anything from college algebra last semester. But a few minutes into class, a girl said that she signed up for this class so she didn't have to take college algebra. I didn't know it, but apparently college algebra isn't a prerequisite for college math, which means I'm in the clear! My professor is super nice, and funny, and very relatable. He wants to make sure everyone understands everything before he moves on to the next subject, which is really nice. And even though the class is almost 3 hours long, it went by surprisingly fast. Hooray!

We got our first homework assignment, and it's only 22 problems...which totally isn't a lot, AND we have two weeks before its due! I'm going to try and do it today so I don't forget all the stuff I just learned, and so I won't have to worry about it for the next 2 weeks.

Hello Labor Day weekend! I cannot believe its September. This afternoon when I went outside to hang some clothes up on the line, I noticed it wasn't super humid, and that the breeze was kind of pleasant.

French Braid Headband!

I tried my hand at another braided headband, but instead of doing a Dutch braid, I did a French braid (which I've had a lot more practice with, and I'm a lot better with!). I'm very pleased with how it came out, except for the side I began on. I'd like to start a little more behind my ear because it doesn't really start looking super braid-ey until after a few twists. But I think this might be my new favorite hairstyle (especially for when my hair is messy or dirty!) I wanted to do it today because my hair looked awful down because I haven't washed it since Sunday. Yep.

This time it looked more like a braid, instead of a wannabe braid.

This morning I went grocery shopping and came home to a lovely stench in my house. I couldn't figure out what it was...I thought it was just the gross stank-ass dogs being gross. So I got some Febreze to spray in the air, and when I got to the last room to spray, I spotted a huge, fresh turd. YUM. I'm so over this carpet...and having 3 dogs. It's just too much. I'm thinking about doing a little research on stained cement floors in houses because that's what's under our carpet, and I can bet you millions of dollars that if this carpet was no longer in the house, it would smell so.much.better.
