Cyrano

Well...our family dog, Cyrano, a lab/weimeraner mix, was put down today. He lived a happy 16 years with our family and I will never, ever forget him. He went through so much with me. I'll never forget how many times my dumb high school boyfriends made me cry, he was the one I would cuddle with in my room while I moped. When we lived in our old house, my parents got up a trampoline for Christmas one year, and it was the highlight of the afternoon when he got on it with us and jumped around. Then for a while he would attack us from underneath while we jumped. When he was a puppy, he terrorized my sister's apartment, ate her shoes, her gum, her toothpaste...her blinds. He also freaked out when he saw himself in the mirror and it was hilarious. He saw all of us go through so many different phases in our lives and met so many people.

I am so so so thankful and happy that he was a part of our family. He is the reason why I fell in love with dogs. He taught me so much about pets, and he is the reason why I got my own dogs. He learned to tolerate Luna when I moved back home with her and I will always appreciate him letting her in his heart, because I know he loved her.

Rest in peace, Bub. Have fun playing with Lyka and Owen up there. Enjoy running, chasing squirrels, lizards and cats. You were the best dog I could have ever asked for.

Right after I finished taking pictures of the outside, V's mom stopped by to give me these poinsettias! I wanted to get some at Walmart because when I was grocery shopping last week they had ones for $3, which I thought was a great deal! Then when we went grocery shopping over the weekend, they only had the bigger ones and they're like $10. I didn't want to shell out $20 for poinsettias, so I figured I'd wait another week and see if they had the $3 ones next week. Then she showed up with these! They're super pretty! She's so thoughtful!

I added a little Christmas decor to my picture today to go along with my post. I'm excited about the holidays! I started working on some presents today and I'm THRILLED with how they're looking!

Loser

Today I feel like a huge loser and it's not too great...

I started off my morning at school, which was fine. Then I went to Ikea with my cousin and hung out with her for a while, which was also dandy. However, on my way home, I was thinking about my cousin and how well she's doing for herself. We went to Ikea and she pretty much bought whatever she wanted. Then when I left, she was going to meet her bf for lunch, and I wanted to go, but I literally have $6 in my bank account, all of my credit cards are maxed out, and I don't have any idea when the next time is that I'll be getting any kind of income. I cannot even remember a time where I could go shopping and actually shop. I can't pay for my own bills when they're due and it's really starting to make me feel like shit. I know I'm in school, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me right now. I don't feel like I'm getting any closer to graduating, and even when I do, I still have 2 more years of school after I leave Valencia. I just want my old receptionist job back at the law firm I used to work at. It is almost exactly a year ago today that I was laid off at Ruden and I haven't been anywhere close to as good as I was doing when I had that job. Sorry I'm boring you with my life complaints, but that's what my blog is for, right?

Oh, and my stupid face is breaking out which is making me feel super ugly.

Movie Time

We just started "The Change-Up". I'm looking forward to it very much. We're like 1 minute in and its already funny!

Ring Ring!

Today I went to the mall with my sister. She was looking for a new shirt to wear for her engagement pictures! She got one at Urban Outfitters, and while we waited in line to check out, we spotted these monogram rings that were like $8.50 for one, to 2 for $12. She wanted an "L", and told me that she'd buy me a "J"if I wanted one! They didn't have a "J", so I decided to get a "V" instead...for my V :]

SO cute, right?! I looooove it!

Today we had Thanksgiving lunch at V's grandparents and it was deeelicious! Tomorrow we're eating at my parents because my dad had to work today. I'm looking forward to having two Thanksgiving dinners that I don't have to eat in the same day!

Where in the world did my "About Me" section go?! It doesn't show up on my blog anymore and I don't know why! I checked my settings and it says that it's showing...but it's so not there! WHY?!

I wrote that paper for my humanities class in an hour and a half. I'm impressed with myself! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, and it just rolled right off my fingertips!

I'm doing a whole lot of nothing for the rest of the day! Yoga later this afternoon and then hanging out with V tonight :] One more day of work for him, then we'll be spending the next 4 days together!

Holiday Homework

Remember how I saved all my homework from last week to do this week? Well I decided yesterday that I would try my best to get it all done today. And I did. Mostly. Everything but one paper. Which I have to say is good considering I started with 5 assignments, 1 test, and 2 papers! I'm hoping to knock out my paper before noon tomorrow so I can have it out of the way.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is in [practically] 2 short days!

Onesie Cookies?

I don't know if I told you about the onesie cookie cutter I got for my cousin's baby shower...but I wanted to make some cute onesie shaped cookies for her shower in January. I've tried out two recipes; the first was awful, and the second is DELICIOUS, but everytime I pop the cookies in the oven, they blow up! Not literally, they just like swell and look like blobs when they're done, rather than onesies.

I still have time to figure out how to get them right, but I don't know what to do! I need to do some research.

Speaking of cookies, I'm trying to get a job at a bakery! I would LOVE to work in a bakery and improve my baking skills and be around sweets all the time!

V got a mini for the weekend so we went for a nice long ride this morning. We ended up in Daytona when we were sick of driving, but we still had to get all the way back home. It was nice to spend the morning with him though! He just finished up at the range, and now we're going to hang out at home for the rest of the evening. Maybe watch a movie. We'll see! But I'm looking forward to it, whatever we do.

Breaking Dawn!

FINALLY! I saw the movie this morning with my aunt and cousin. Reading the book right before was definitely a huge mistake because they left out SO MANY THINGS and changed SO MUCH. But I bet if I hadn't read the book within the last week, I wouldn't have noticed nearly as many things. It was still good and I'm excited for the next one to come out...although it's not going to be until next freaking year! Ugh!

Tonight we're going to dinner to celebrate my sister's 26th birthday! I'm looking forward to hanging out with all of my favorite people and eating some delicious food!

Bye Bye, Rose

I'm currently watching Maci's episode of 16 & Pregnant, which is over 3 years old now! When she went to the hospital they weren't in the room with her, but they made this little video with some music and it was so cute! It made me miss Carmella and it's given me a small case of baby fever! AHH! Good think my cousin will be having my little nephew, Maddox soon! I can't wait to meet him!

[side note: I wrote the beginning of this while I was at home like two hours ago. I got sidetracked and saved it...now I'm with Rose, finishing my post, which is why it's so random.]

I'm over half way through Breaking Dawn and I'm definitely past where the first movie will end. I WISH they just put it all into one movie and made it like 4 hours long. I would totally watch it.

This book isn't mine, it belongs to Rose's mom. I forgot mine last week and when I found out she had it, I stopped bringing mine because it's just easier!

Today is my last day with Rose, which I'm pretty bummed about. Although...I put her down for her nap at 2...it's now 2:27 and she's still not asleep. In fact, she's sitting in her bed singing. Hopefully she goes to sleep because I'd like to get a good chunk of Breaking Dawn read this afternoon!

I took my third math test this morning and I'm feeling really good about it! My last two I got 72's on both, and I'm hoping to score a B or better this time. I actually studied and felt pretty confident that I knew what I was doing. As for my other classes...I have a test on Monday in ASL and I have a whole module AND 4 page paper due in humanities on the 28th. I haven't done any of it. I'm going to hate myself next week when all I want to do is eat Thanksgiving food, but instead I'll have to do humanities stuff. Oh well! I keep telling myself that since I wont have to pick up Rose all next week that I'm going to be really bored so I'll want to do my schoolwork, but that probably won't actually happen.

Thankful

I realized on my way home from grocery shopping this morning that my life is amazing. I absolutely love our house, and I could not be happier with V. I'm so so thankful that he's in my life and takes such good care of me. I'm thankful for school and that I now have a new career ahead of me that I'm looking forward to more than I ever thought possible. I'm thankful that everyone I know is healthy. I'm thankful that I've found yoga and that it has benefitted me in so many ways. I'm finally thankful that ALL of my animals are healthy.

Speaking of all this thankfulness...Thanksgiving is ONE WEEK from today. This year has gone by so so super fast, I can't believe it. It seems like years pass by faster and faster.

I think I'm going to whip up a test run batch of sugar cookies that I'm planning on making for my cousin's baby shower in January. I made a batch a few weeks ago and they were awful. Super hard and the dough was SO hard to work with! I got a onesie cookie cutter on ebay and I got so frustrated with the last batch and how difficult it was to cut them. I've never used a cookie cutter on homemade cookie dough, but I really didn't think it would be hard!

My sister's birthday is next Wednesday and we're celebrating this weekend with dinner at Kobe! I'm really looking forward to it, it's going to be delicious and fun!

I'm still into painting my nails, btw! I got a new color at Walmart and I'm really diggin it!

Hello, Neil

It's my second to last day babysitting Little Miss Rose and I'm trying to figure out what to have for lunch. I was feeling super gross and nauseous around noon...for like an hour and I'm finally back to feeling normal-ish, and my stomach is growling. I have no idea why I felt like that earlier and I'd really rather not feel like it again while I'm here with Rose, so I'm trying to decide on what to eat to keep my stomach happy.

I'm going to read a good amount of Breaking Dawn today since it comes out on FRIDAY. We're going to see it Saturday, and I really want to finish it before. I'm curious to know where they're going to cut off the first part of the movie and what they'll be saving for "part 2". I guess I'll find out soon enough!

Ugh!

I have this fable I was given for my ASL class...Androcles. A while ago we were supposed to gloss it, and now we're supposed to use what we've glossed and make a video signing the story. Which means I need to memorize what happens AND how to sign it all correctly. By tomorrow at midnight. Of course, I've known about it for a couple weeks now and I've been putting it off because I really don't want to do it, but I'm pretty much out of time now...so I have to.

I figure today is a good day to do it because my hair is freshly washed and straightened...maybe when I'm done I'll share it with you! MAYBE.

You're Always on My Mind....

I can't even tell you how excited I am to see Breaking Dawn! My cousin (whom I'm going to see the movie with this weekend!!!!!!) texted me this morning to tell me that she saw people lined up outside of the movie theater ALREADY. They will be sitting there until midnight on Thursday! And I thought I was obsessed!

I realized on my way to pick up Rose today that I forgot my book at home. I was so upset because I've GOT to finish it before I see the movie, so I was counting on my babysitting time to assist me in reaching my goal. So I texted Rose's mom and asked her if she happened to have it...she said she thought she might, and to check when I got to her house. Hallelujah! It was the first book I saw when I looked on the bookshelf!

I can't believe today is November 13th...practically half way through the month. Next Thursday is Thanksgiving and this Friday BREAKING DAWN COMES OUT! OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!! It's my goal to finish the book this week before I go see it. I also have to memorize this fable for ASL and sign it by Wednesday. Gah.

Beautiful Friday

I got out of class early today, which I wasn't expecting...so it was even better! We just went over stuff that's going to be on our test next week and I feel really good about this test...as long as I can memorize formulas for area and volume of different shapes. Its that and algebra and I'm actually really good at algebra now! I feel pretty confident that I could get a B on this test. It'd be nice!

The weather outside is AMAZING. Today's high is like 68 degrees, and it's getting down to like the 40's tonight!

Early Morning Yoga!

This morning I decided to go to yoga at a 6:45am class. It's a power hour, and when I walked in, the instructor was dancing around to disco music. I was not prepared for loud music and high energy...I had only been up for like 15 minutes! After we got started though, it felt just like any other class and I totally forgot about being tired. I really enjoyed it! I'll be going again tonight with V, this is the first time I'll ever do two times a day so I'm interested to see how I'm going to feel during class tonight. I think that since the two classes will be so far apart during the day, I won't feel any different in class. We'll see!

Reread

I've decided to reread Breaking Dawn before I see the movie. I really don't know why I'm doing this to myself because I know when I see the movie I'll just be picking out all the things they changed or left out, but whatevs! I just want to, okay!

Welcome to my life for the next two weeks.

Bummer...

Well, lets start with some good news for today...I finished my humanities paper that isn't due until next Monday. It's nice because now I don't have to worry about it at all. I also finished my ASL homework, which is due tomorrow morning. We have a test tomorrow...that means no lesson, so whenever I finish my test, I get to leave.

In other not-so-good news...starting the week of Thanksgiving, I'm not babysitting Rose anymore. She basically can't afford it, and her neighbor's babysitter offered to do it for a LOT less, so I got the boot. I have to finish out this week because she's already paid me for it, and she offered to pay me for next week, if I want to do it. I most likely will, because if not, I won't be making any money, and I could use all I can get. I'm pretty much bummed. I think mostly because I really thought this would last much longer...like years. I was just starting to finally get along with Rose, and she was finally starting to like me and enjoy her time with me, and now it's over. Oh, and the money was pretty nice too. I guess I'll try and find a part time receptionist position that can work around my school schedule, or V suggested I try to be a cart girl at a local golf course. I might look into that. Idk. All I do know is that I need some sort of job.

Blah. Sorry this post was so Debbie-Downer-ish, but I'm pretty bummed.

Pumpkin Seeds Planted!

I just finished my math homework...that isn't due until Friday. Go me!

Today I also planted some pumpkin seeds because I plan to open my own pumpkin patch next October and make lots of money, and I counted the holes that Lacey has dug in the last month while I was out there as well...102. Yep; that wasn't a type-o. There are one hundred and two holes in our backyard, primarily on one side...all thanks to Lacey. I just hope she doesn't dig up all the seeds I just planted!
