Dutch Braid Headband (HA!)

I told you I've basically been obsessed with this girl's hairstyles and I've literally been trying them all...one after the other.

Fishtail Braid

Today I attempted my very first fishtail braid. After watching this girl do a whole bunch of awesome braid related things with her hair, it made me want to try things out on my hair!

It's super messy and loose because its really freaking hard!

Ca$h for Books?!

This morning I decided to go through my collection of old books and bring them to school for their "Cash for Books" program.

I had quite a few...as you can see. And they were not easy to carry! I knew the parking lot was going to be a mad house, because it's later in the morning, and school just started. I ended up snagging a "Bookstore Employee Only" parking space, and made my way to the bookstore with my 10 books packed into my Vera Bradley "Weekender" bag. I unloaded my books onto this guy's desk, and he went through the stack, giving me back almost every book I handed him, telling me that "They're too old". Which means there are newer editions that have come out, so my books are supposedly "worthless" (we'll see about that!). Anyways, he ended up taking 2 of the 10 books; one from V's speech class, and the other from our humanities class last semester. He paid me $80 which was much more than I was expecting for just two books. I'm not sure how much we paid for them, I can't remember, and I don't think I want to, because I'm sure they were more than $40 each. Oh well. Better than nothing!

I'm really lovin' these sunglasses lately!

Now I'm going to see if there are any other places close by that will buy back textbooks. I have all my homework finished for the week in my online classes. ASL again tomorrow morning, and my first math class on Friday!

Fall Semester Begins!

Well, this morning I woke up at 7:15 to start getting ready for my ASL II class at 8:40. I took my time getting ready and left the house by 8:20. I pulled into the parking lot at school around 8:35 and walked into class about a minute after that, and everyone was in their seats, and my professor was signing away. I looked at the kid that I sat down next to and said "doesn't class start at 8:40?!" and he replied laughing "no, 8:30". GREAT JOB, JESSICA! I felt like such an asshole interrupting the whole class! That'll never happen againnnnnn!

All in all it was a good class though. It's going to be pretty intense, we won't be using our voices at all. Ever.

Hopefully by the end of this semester I'll be significantly better at fingerspelling and signing than I am now!

Sunday Funday!

This morning V went golfing with my sister's man, and we (me&my sis) went to my parents for breakfast! After that my sister and I ran a few errands, then I met my mom at a nail salon and she got a manicure, and I got a pedicure! Now I have nice, shiny, PINK toenails for the first day of school! Which is TOMORROW. I'm not ready! I'm kind of scared about ASL II. I don't feel like I'm prepared for some reason. Hopefully it's just a feeling, and it will disappear after I get there.

Now I need to do some laundry so all the clothes I want to wear for school will be clean for the week!

Horses!

Remember how I wanted to go running yesterday? Well I went. And I ran about 1/4 of a mile and it sucked. I was just pissed off afterwards that I went because I hated it. And now today my shins are like SUPER sore and its dumb.

This afternoon I met up with a friend from my ex-work. We went to visit the horses at this stable in Sanford. It was lovely! I was worried about it being hot, but the sun ended up getting covered by a ton of clouds and it was really windy. I didn't even break a sweat!

Running?

V is off today, which has been lovely! We woke up super early so we could get to school right when the bookstore opened to buy our books for class. Since school starts Monday, I figured it would be really busy, so we went early to avoid all the craziness! It worked! However, there was a problem with V's financial aid, so he couldn't buy his books, and our humanities book wasn't there. Oh and I think I either didn't realize or I just forgot that my economics class is on another campus, and you can't buy the book for the class at a different campus. So I had to order it, and our humanities book online and have them shipped to our campus. Hopefully they'll both be in on Monday!

After school, we went to get V a hair cut, and then came back home. We watched tv for a while, then made lunch, and now V is napping, and I'm thinking about going for a run around the walkway at our neighborhood park with Dog, to try and tire her out! We're also going to yoga in a little bit, which is what's putting me on the fence about going running. I don't want to use all my energy running and then be pooped in class!

I took a trip back to American Eagle because one of the pairs of shorts I bought yesterday fit while I was in the fitting room, but after I got them home and wore them for like 30 minutes, they got SUPER stretched out, and way too big. They were a size 2, btw. So I had to take them back for a 0. That's right...a ZERO, folks!

New Clothes!

This morning I met my dad for breakfast at Keke's, then headed to Waterford Lakes to do some shopping at American Eagle! I decided I was going to buy myself a few new back-to-school clothes the other day and I'm sure glad I did! I got three shirts and two pairs of shorts! Hooray! Two of the shirts are the exact same, except one is black and the other is coral. The other shirt I got is pictured below:

I think it's my favorite of the three. It's kind of fancy, but I could wear it with shorts and it still looks super cute! Or I could wear it with jeans and look nice :] 

Now it's a quarter past noon and I've got no plans for the rest of the day...until yoga this evening! I'm really looking forward to that because we usually go on Monday-Wednesday-Thursday, but we decided this week to go Monday-Thursday-Friday since V has the day off tomorrow. So going from Monday until today with no yoga seems like so long! 

We still have the beagle, btw. I got an email from a potential adopter the other day, but I told him I wanted to wait until next weekend, just to make sure her owner doesn't call. Hopefully it all works out for her!

Doggie Want a Cupcake?

Rewind to yesterday at about 5:55pm. When I left to go babysit, I decided to leave Dog inside with Lacey and Ellie because I was going to be gone for a while and it's hot as shit outside. I walk in the door, after babysitting since about 1 o'clock to a terrible, disgusting, urine-y stank, and Gladware strewn about the living room. You know what was in the Gladware? About 14 cupcakes. With frosting. And sprinkles. Then I round the corner and see that the blinds in the living room are broken and have tiny little teeth marks all over them. Super. There were quite a few pee spots in the Florida room as well. So after I cleaned up the Gladware and put Dog back on the porch, I went out and posted "Found Dog" flyers around the places close to where I found her. I really don't think her owner is looking for her, so I'm not sure what we're going to do with her. I'm thinking of making a poster for a free dog and posting it at my yoga studio.

FF to this morning!

I woke up (45 minutes earlier than my alarm) to a text message from my sister, asking me for a favor. So I got up, got dressed and ran some medicine to her at her school so she wouldn't have a shitty second day. She texted me later and said she feels 80% better, yay!

After that I went to Publix to rent a Rug Doctor to clean my carpet. The carpet that still reeked of dog urine, which was so so disgusting. I sprayed some Febreze after we got home from yoga last night, which helped temporarily. Long enough to eat dinner and not want to barf.

Then this morning, when V was leaving for work, he informed me that one of the dogs who were inside (Ellie or Lacey) left a nice big turd for us. V cleaned it best as he could, but it still looked really gross. I used all of the carpet cleaner last night when I got home from posting the flyers, so there was only upholstery cleaner, and I guess it doesn't really work on the carpet. So I super cleaned the floors with the Rug Doctor, and although everything else I cleaned looks really good, the poop spot is still there. It's significantly cleaner, and there is no stink coming from any of the floors, but its gross looking. I tried just straight bleach on it, but that just kind of changed it to a different shade of brown. I'm not sure what we're going to do about it. Maybe just cut it out and stick a new piece of carpet in? Idk.

Once I finally finished the carpets (2.5 hours later), I'm like pooped. So now I'm sitting on the couch eating my lunch and watching Law & Order: SVU. I'm thinking about going to lounge in the pool, but I haven't decided yet.

Flower

I'm babysitting my new girl, the one who I'm picking up from school...'member? I picked her up for the first time today, and her mom came along so it would be as smooth as possible. I'm picking her up again two more times this week and then I'll be off until October because her mom won't be working, so she'll be staying home with her all day. We got home from picking her up and she went right down for her nap, and immediately fell asleep. I watched a little tv, ate a pb&j, then decided to lay out for an hour, which I just came in from. It was nice, but so so SO hot! They have a pool, but no floats to lay out on IN the pool. So I soaked up the sun beside the pool, and it was hot hot hot! Now I'm watching What Not to Wear (yes, I love this show!), and relaxing. I want to take a nap, but I just don't think I could do that while watching someone else's kid, even if said kid is sleeping. Oh well.

Yoga and Big Brother tonight! (We still haven't watched Sunday night's episode). I'm looking forward to an evening with my love :]

SCHOOL STARTS 1 WEEK FROM TODAY! My second to LAST semester at Valencia! OMG!

Carol?!

This afternoon/evening we had friends over to swim and eat dinner! Dog had a ton of fun, and enjoyed some time in the pool! She was totally content while I held her in the pool, and liked floating around on rafts! 

She would swim from me to V, and not really flip out much at all! A friend of ours, Jeremy, insisted on her being named Carol, so all night everyone kept calling her Carol and I hate it! She had a blast and now she, along with Ellie and Lacey, are totally wiped out! So is V! He fell asleep while I was taking a shower...at 9:30! Silly goose. Now he's sleeping and me and Luna are watching What Not to Wear. Definitely a great end to my weekend. Now to begin a busy week full o' babysitting (and making money...wooooo!). I'm really hoping to go to the beach on Tuesday to say goodbye to summer, since the Fall semester will begin one week from tomorrow. My goodness, how time goes by so fast!

Oh, Dog

I think I'm becoming attached to this howling pooch. She seem to have calmed down somewhat and she is just so damn sweet.

Howler

H.O.L.Y.C.R.A.P. This dog howls like NO ONE'S BUSINESS! I posted a "FOUND DOG" ad on Craigs List, hoping her owner will call me! I haven't heard from anyone yet....I'm not sure what to do. What if no one claims her? Do I bring her to the humane society? I mean, I know she'll get adopted because she's young and adorable, but what if...WHAT IF she doesn't? Then I would be responsible for her death!

I think Ellie and Lacey hate her. Lol.

myOmy!

This morning on my way to Walmart to get groceries, I found a dog. Usually I don't pick up lost dogs, but this one was just running down the road in front of my car, then when she decided to cross over Goldenrod (which is a very busy road!), I decided to follow her, and she went to a gas station and came right to me when I whistled. So I stuck her in the backyard and headed to Walmart. When I got home, I let Lacey and Ellie outside to see her, and they all seemed okay. So I brought her inside while I unloaded groceries. She seemed okay inside with my pups as well, but soon after I unloaded the groceries and gave this pup a bath, I headed out to see my sister's new classroom!

!!!!!!! I'm super nervous FOR her! I can't even imagine how I'm going to feel on MY first day as a teacher! Ahhhhhh!

While I was gone I left her on our screened in porch with a bowl of food and water.

I have no idea how old she is, but she's definitely still a puppy. She has little teef and little feet, and her skin is all loose, lol. She didn't tinkle on the porch while I was gone, so I left them all outside when I got home and she did nothing. So after a few minutes they all came inside and a couple minutes after being inside, she peed on the carpet. Of course! I'm not sure she's totally potty trained. She's also not spayed, and I kind of think she may have been used for breeding. She is absolutely all beagle. She howls a LOT. Like whenever she wants to play, she just stares at Ellie or Lacey and yells!

See? I don't know if I can handle that! I'm waiting til V gets home to make a decision because this morning when I found her I texted him a picture and he replied telling me that he's always wanted a beagle. Lol! But I'm not rea...and she just pooped in my dining room...ly sure I want a puppy. They're a lot of work and I don't think I'm ready for that!

But she is verrrrry cute and quite a sweetheart!

(But I really hate how my glasses cut off right in the middle of my eye sometimes. It happens on a rare occasion, because usually I try to be aware of it, but I just couldn't help it!)

OMG! I went out to get my yoga stuff out of the dryer and when I was on my way back to the door to go inside Luna was at the door like pushing at it. I thought she saw something outside, but then I got in and saw there was a WASP! I shut the other door really fast (almost squashing Luna!), and panicked! I didn't know what to do! Then I had the genius idea of going out the front door and getting the wasp spray out of the utility room, opened up the glass door under the carport and drowned the bastard! But then when I went to leave, I got hit in the face with the smell of wasp spray. It was really bad. I thought of putting a shoe in the door to keep it open and air it out, but then I thought that wasps would take over, so I just left it closed. Oh well.

Disney Again!

This afternoon I'm going to get my hair feather re-positioned. It seems to have made its way down the hair it was attached to, and it's beginning to poke me in the ear! I think I'm also going to get another hair flair because I love them! Then later this afternoon I'm going to Disney with my friend, her brother, and her two kiddies. I'm super excited, it should be fun! And it'll be nice not to be really bored all day! Woo!

Banana Muffins

This morning I made some banana muffins. I just had one and they're super yummy! I didn't completely mush the bananas, so there were a couple chunks in the muffins! Mmmm!

I have absolutely nothing to do today and I'm not really looking forward to it. It's going to be a long day. Yoga tonight, which I AM looking forward to tonight! 

Early Weekend Post!

I realized that I have a hard time remembering to post on Sundays, especially on the ones that I've got a lot going on...like today. Church this morning with a friend of mine, and this afternoon we're having a little hang out with some friends! Swimmin and grillin! Fun!

CLEAN!

This morning I decided to clean the house. I started with the bathroom (cleaned the terlit AND the shower!), moved into Luna's room, and then into the living room and kitchen. Dishes are done and put away, carpet is vacuumed, laundry is almost done, and I'm not even tired! Thats probably because I didn't set an alarm last night, so I didn't wake up until 10:01 this morning. Whatevs! In the middle of my cleaning, I took a break to lay out in the pool with my cousin for about an hour and a half. It was really nice outside and it was a nice break from cleaning.

So last night I babysat my new girl, the one I'll be picking up from school starting in October. She was a lot of fun! Very busy, and very talkative! After she went to bed, I hung out with their dog, Neil. He was amazing. So entertaining and funny!

And so cuuuuute! He's only like a year old, so he had a lot of energy! I made a short little video, too! :] Enjoy!

Errands

This morning we ran a couple errands. Now V is at the driving range hitting some balls with his new golf clubs and I'm watching some tv. Lacey has an appointment at the vet this afternoon, and tonight I'm going to babysit. Not really my first choice of how to spend a Friday night, but I know it's going to be super easy, and I could definitely use the money! I'm trying to save everything I make this month to be able to pay my car payment on my own! Woo!

Dunkin NOnuts

I went with my sisters this morning to the mall for the H&M grand opening. FAIL! We didn't even end up going in H&M because it was like crazy busy. CRAZY. After we left the mall we went to Walmart to make an exchange, and then went to the Dollar Store so my sister could buy things for her classroom (!). Then we stopped at Dunkin Donuts because I saw a commercial for their frozen Arnold Palmer and I wanted one! I love Arnold Palmers, so I thought "what could be better than a frozen one?!". Boy was I wrong! It was like this sweet tea and lemonade flavored syrup mixed with like slush. It was SOOOO gross! I ended up dumping it out at the nearest stoplight. :[ So we decided after that to stop at Tijuana Flats and visit our cousin! Big win! We got free dranks AND chips with guac! Yumm!!!

From now on I will know to listen to my sister when she tells me a frozen Arnold Palmer probably won't be good and just buy donuts from Dunkin Donuts.

Feelin' Better!

I'm feeling better already! This Zicam really works!

This morning I went to the bank to make my car payment, and then I went to the library to get a library card so I can start reading books, and not having to pay for them! I wanted to get The Help and Water for Elephants...but they were both checked out! BUMMER! After that I headed to Walmart to get some groceries, and now I'm home for a while before I have to go babysit for a few hours. I'm seriously considering going to yoga tonight. I feel a lot better, and I think it would do me good. We'll see how I feel later this evening though.

Sick Jessicat

This is what I look like when I'm sick. Went to bed with wet hair, and I've been laying on it all day, so it's all crazy. My nose is stuffy/runny, and I'm sleepy. I'm really glad school is out right now because I wouldn't want to go to school feeling (or looking) like this.

I don't feel too much worse than I did yesterday, so I'm really hoping I won't get any worse. I feel sorry for V that he has to come home to this girl, lol. Oh well. My goal is to be 100% better by Friday, and make it to yoga Thursday night. Tomorrow I'm supposed to babysit, but I'm not sure if I should because I don't want to get her sick while I'm there! I guess we'll see.

I think since I'm babying this cold so much, and getting a ton of rest and drinking lots of fluids, that it'll go away quick! 

It's a Cold.

I think it's definitely a cold. It's gotten progressively worse throughout the day today. I napped on and off for about 2 and a half hours this afternoon, and I don't think going to yoga will be a good idea. I'm really sad, but I know it won't do me any good if I go.

Allergies or Cold?

Well...yesterday afternoon I started feeling like I was getting a cold. So I started sucking on some Zicam (cold remedy), and last night before bed I took a NyQuil. Then this morning I sucked down 2 more Zicams, and took a DayQuil with my breakfast. Then I started thinking (after I saw no improvement, or any kind of reaction from the cold meds), "maybe its allergies?" So I went to my parents house, because they always have allergy medicine, and got some Benadryl Allergies. I took it about 30 minutes ago, and honestly, I already feel like my nose has dried up quite a bit. Maybe it is allergies! I was thinking about not going to yoga tonight, because it doesn't do a cold any good, but if it's allergies, then whatever! Gimme some yogs!

This morning I met up with my sister and we went to a bridal shop so I could try on this bridesmaid dress she picked out. The sample size was a 14 (it was like a pillow case!), but after we held it together in many places, we both fell in love! It's a very flattering dress, and I think it will look great on all of us. The only thing about it is that it's pretttty pricey! Much more than what we've been searching for. But that's the thing...Lindsey keeps asking me if it's too much, and while it is a lot, it's really not that much. We've been looking for dresses under $100 and we've found nothing. And I think that's why. This one is perfect...in every way! I really love it, and I hope everyone else is okay with paying a little more than expected. We've all got time to save for it, so there should be no problems (hopefully!).

Now I'm home, probably going to plop on the couch and watch tv...maybe fall asleep? V's mom is making us a chicken pot pie for dinner tonight and I'm super excited! Her chicken pot pies are so yummy!

I'm kind of sleepy and I have nothing else to do...so I might go take a nap. Or watch tv...and then fall asleep. Ha.

Caturday

Tonight we're going to a fancy dinner and I'm super excited to eat some deeeelicious food and be in good company :]

V has a doctors appointment this afternoon and while he's gone my sister's going to come over with her pup so we can hang out by the pooool! Maybe I'll get some sun! I noticed before yoga yesterday that I was looking quite pale! It's not time for that yet. It's still too hot outside to not have a tan! Maybe since school's out, I'll get back to working on my tan for a few weeks!

We're going on a family vacation to Maggie Valley, NC with V's parents and his brother in October and I'm really looking forward to it! Especially because by then I will have babysat for a few weeks, so I'll actually have some spending money! Whoa! I made some money the other night when I babysat for a family friend, but today it'll probably end up in my gas tank, and the money I had left over in my bank account went to my American Eagle credit card payment. Why did I use it last month?! Oh well...ya live and ya learn, right?!

Happy Things!

OMGOMGOMG! Final grades are in!

I GOT AN A IN MATH!!!!!!! WHAAAAAAAT!!!!! I have absolutely NO idea how I pulled that off! And if I hadn't missed those two damn assignments in humanities, I would have had straight A's! Oh well! Nothing I can do about it now, except NEVER MISS AN ASSIGNMENT AGAIN! I'm SO happy right now! Like...SO SO SOOOO HAPPY!!!!! My GPA didn't change at all, which I'm thrilled about, especially because just a couple weeks ago I thought it was really going to drop significantly. Still at a 3.55! I want to keep it above a 3.5...always. How awesome would it be if I graduated UCF with a 4.0? I would shit a brick. It would be so awesome. I'm going to try! Maybe next semester I'll get straight A's! I know it'll be super easy to get A's in economics and 20th century humanities, ASL II shouldn't be a problem either, but college math might be a little tricky. But I AM taking it on campus this semester, so who knows!

Anywaaaays! Today I might hang out with my sister for the afternoon, idk yet. Then this evening I'm going to yoga, and hopefully V will be meeting me there straight from work! I'm not sure what we'll be doing tonight...we don't have anything planned yet. Tomorrow night, however, we'll be going to McCormick & Schmick's for dinner, courtesy of V's work! I'm super excited about that...it shall be a dinner celebration!

School has only been out since Tuesday and I'm already starting to miss it. Mostly because I'm starting to get bored, lol. Hopefully I'll babysit E a few days a week next week. That'll keep me occupied, for at least half of the week.

I was lucky to spend this afternoon with Carmella! I haven't seen her in like 2 months and she's prettier than ever :] I'll have more pictures to share tomorrow, but for now, you get this one:

BakeBakeBake!

Today is V's mom's birthday and she said all she wanted was a cake and ice cream. So we're going over tonight to watch Big Brother with her, and enjoy some cake and ice cream. I decided to make a vanilla cake with regular vanilla icing, but I made the cake tie-dye! I've wanted to make a tie-dye cake for the longest time, and I can't WAIT to see what it looks like on the inside! I've never used the recipe I picked for the cake, so I hope it's good! They look pretty cool now, while they're cooling, but the tops got a little browned so they're not super bright. The insides will be though, and I'm super excited to cut it!

I use some neon food coloring, so it's going to be really pretty! I did two, and the second one got a little more mixed up than the first, and it looks so neato! I've never been more excited to cut a cake!

We took our math final last night, and I'm pretty sure I got a 71%! That's a C! Which is passing! I think with the extra credit, I might pass the class with a B! I would be thrilled! V got a 61%, which is still passing, and I think with his extra credit he'll end up with a C, which he's happy about. I'm SO glad that class is over, and humanities! I have no schoolwork to do for the next 26 days and I'm so happy!

This afternoon I'm going to yoga, and then we'll be spending the evening with V's mom, which I'm looking forward to! 

For now, I'm going to clean up my dishes, eat lunch, and relax!

LAST FINAL!

I'm currently at E's house, she's napping and I'm blogging while watching a re-run of Grey's Anatomy! I'm here today until 4 and she went down for her nap at 12:30, so hopefully she'll be napping until at least 2:30, so I'll only have an hour and a half with her before heading home! I've been here since 9:30 this morning, and I know it's lame at home, but I miss it! I'm basically doing the same thing here that I do at home, but less tv, and more entertainment, but it's not my house...ya know? At least I'm makin some money! Tomorrow is V's mom's birthday and I'd like to take her out for lunch, but I might have to watch E for a few hours, so I'm not sure.

Tonight we're going to take the final for math...my last final! After today, I won't have to work on homework, take a test, or anything for the next 27 days! That's almost a month! I'm so looking forward to it! I'm also excited about next semester, it should be cool. It'll keep me busy...actually going to school THREE days a week. ASL 2, College Math, Basic Economics, and 20th Century Humanities. For now, I need to send V's extra credit to our math teacher! Toodles!

BURNinating Sign Language!

ASL final is OVAR! I definitely passed. I'm bummed that the class is over because I absolutely loved my professor. She was amazing! I can't wait to start learning more and more about the language next semester!

Today I'll be babysitting my newest baby, E. She's 1 and a half and I'm super excited to get to know her, and what she does. I've never been around a 1 year old a ton, so I'm interested to see what she knows.

Tonight we're missing yoga (BOO!), and re-taking our test 3 in math. Then tomorrow night we have to go take our math final. We did the extra credit yesterday for math, and V got a 91 (or higher) on the test 3 extra credit, and I got a 96 (or higher)! Woo! That will bump our final grades up a good 4 maaaaybe 5 points! Possibly from a B to an A! We'll see! I think final grades will be in by like Friday (at the latest, I'm guessing?), so I'll know for sure, for all my classes by then!

For now, I'm going to relax a little before I have to leave!
