Practicing my Handstands...

in the pool!

Today we slept in...it was FABULOUS! When we got up and moving V tended to the lawn while I cleaned the inside of the house! After he was done he went to the driving range for a golf lesson, and I cleaned the house some more. When I finished cleaning I painted my nails and watched some television. V came home and we went to Freshfields to get some food for dinner because we invited his parents over. We got some food and cooked it, and enjoyed hanging out with his parents and brother; it was a nice night in! After they left, V went out in the backyard and hit some practice golf balls and I decided to go for a swim in the pool! It was like the perfect summer night. Hot, not too sticky, and the pool was a comfortable 88 degrees. Ahhhhhh.

Tomorrow morning V is going golfing, and I'm going to a yoga class in the mall. One of my favorite teachers from OPY is teaching a class at a store that sells yoga clothes, so I'm going to support her! It should be a nice Sunday morning practice.

Lost Drivers License

If you know me, you know that I'm not one to lose things. I keep everything (especially important things) exactly where it belongs, and if I take it out, I put it back. I keep my debit card and drivers license both together in a little Vera Bradley card holder that I have.

Well, while we were in SC, I didn't want to bring my whole purse out, just my debit card, drivers license and some chapstick. I decided to use this adorable little wristlet that a friend got me for my birthday, and when I took my debit card out of my card holder, my DL wasn't behind it. I searched through all the other cards I keep in there, thinking maybe I put it back quickly, and it got out of order...nope. It's gone! I cannot even remember the last time I took it out; like where I was or anything. I have NO idea where it could be.

I called to see how much it would cost, and it's the same price that I had to pay to get my address changed on it last week. AND I have to get a new fucking picture. I'm so upset! I hope it comes out as good or better than my other one. UGH! It just bugs me that I lost it. And that I have not a single clue where it could be.

So tomorrow I'll be taking another trip to the DMV. Yippie.

Mountain Fever

Even though being here in SC isn't super thrilling since V is at school from 9 til 5, and I'm just sitting in the hotel; in the evenings we went for drives through the mountains and it was so amazing. I really don't want to leave, but we have to. Hopefully we'll get to come back again in the winter, for longer...for a real vacation.

I'm really thinking about living up here. I would absolutely love it, and I think a whole new change of scenery could be good for us. I love being by the beach and what not, but I'm pretty beached out, honestly. Yeah, I love being a quick 45 minutes away, but I think I'd rather be a quick 45 minutes away from a really awesome adventure through a mountain. The weather outside is absolutely beautiful. I hadn't even been up here in the summer, and it's so much better than I expected.

Yesterday evening we were in a mountain, and put the windows down, and it was 73 degrees outside. In late June, at like 5:30 in the evening. Just beautiful. I could totally get used to this. The only thing that would suck is not having any friends or family anywhere close. I know, we could make new friends, but really? I'm not big on meeting new people or making new friends, and I feel like the older you get, the weirder it is!

I just can't wait to come back.

That picture of me is from Sunday, I can't lie to you, and I plan to wear that shirt out tonight again, so you'll be seeing me in it again very soon. I just love it so much!

Road Trip!

Today we left to head to South Carolina for a few days. V had to come up for work, and I (thankfully) am allowed to join him! I love being up here, and driving through the mountains. Though I'll be pretty bored during the day while he's gone, I'll be able to get a LOT of homework done!

It rained most of the way here, I'd say about 75% of the drive it was cloudy. We stopped for gas, and a bathroom break, and in my bathroom, there was a "love kit" in the vending machine, next to a condom dispenser. I thought it was hilarious, so I took a picture. I can't imagine that people actually buy that shit!

We got here, brought our stuff up into the hotel room, and then went for a 2 hour drive through the mountains. It.was.amazing. I can't wait to go again tonight! EEP! I can't wait til the day when we move up into the mountains. I love my Orlando, and the beach, and our house, but I think I'd trade it for mountains, and a real winter!

RAOK Day 21: Mission Trip Donation

Today I made a donation to help a friend succeed on his goal to go on a mission trip. I couldn't donate much, because I don't have much, but I gave what I could!

This is what I look like while I'm re-taking my psychology test. We get two attempts, and I took the first one a couple days ago. It took me an hour and a half to finish, and I got a 74. I figured I would do better the second time because I could use the first one at least as some sort of reference, but my professor DELETED MY FIRST ATTEMPT! So I had nothing to look back on. I just finished the second attempt and freaking scored the exact same as I did the first time. What a waste of my time! Ugh!

RAOK Day 20: Comforting a Sad Kid!

Today I went out to Bonnet Creek to visit Savannah and her family! We spent the day at the pool and had a lovely time, even though it rained...a lot.

Savannah's little sister, Cyanna really wanted to ride this slide that was at one of the pools, but she wasn't quite tall enough. We tried to sneak her by the lifeguard, but couldn't! She was really sad, because she was the only one, out of the 6 of us who couldn't go. While we were walking away from the slide, I picked her up and comforted her for a bit...she shed a few tears on my shoulder, but quickly rebounded once we got to the other slide, that she could ride.

I came in 2nd place in a hula hoop contest! If it wasn't for a forward step, I probably could have won!

RAOK Day 19: Organ Donor!

Today I went to the DMV to get my registration renewed and get my address changed (FINALLY!)! And thankfully, with the addy change, I got a new picture for my drivers license!

I feel like I look so much more sophisticated! I like it MUCH better than my last one, and I LOVE that I got to keep my glasses on! Yay! Anddddddddd I became an organ donor!!!!! Yay me! 

Lets Be Honest...

I realized when I woke up this morning that I totally missed my RAOK and picture post yesterday. So I sat down at the computer, thinking of what I did yesterday so I could make it up to you, but I cannot think of one random and kind deed I did yesterday to tell you about :[ Nor did I take a single picture of myself! Shame on me, I know. I will do better today, and hopefully I can make up missing my RAOK, and do an extra today, too!

RAOK Day 17: Duck Crossing

This morning on my way to my sister's house, I turned a corner to find a slowly waddling duck beginning his attempt to cross 2 wide lanes of traffic. I immediately stopped and let him cross, thought about jumping out to pick him up and bring him to the lake he was on his way to but decided not to because there was no where to put my car that was safe and nearby, then I waited for him to cross the oncoming lane of traffic. A guy with his sun came up on him and stopped, thankfully, and let him cross! <3

We went to my parents house to make bfast for my dad for Father's Day! We made a bunch of Pinterest breakfast recipes and they were ALL DELICIOUS! 

You put a slice of ham (or turkey...or both!) to line the cupcake pan, crack an egg inside (I like my eggs scrambled, so we whipped mine up before putting them in), add some salt and pepper and pop 'em in the oven for 12 minutes, putting the cheese on like 2 minutes before taking it out! They were SO GOOD! And soooo easy! I'm definitely going to make more...probably this week! And with onions! Yum!

My sister told me this morning that her and my cousin, who work out together now, are training to run a 5k! It impressed me, and inspired me to try, too! So I got this to prep myself, because The Color Run is coming to my town in December! How cool would it be to be able to run it?! 

RAOK Day 16: Dress Loaner

RAOK Day 15: The Last Pizza (You Know, Instead of 'Supper')

Last night I skipped yogs, because V was supposed to have a golf lesson, but he got rained out, so I decided to stay home from yoga and hang out with him! I went this morning instead! After class I came home and started the laundry, and finished up some DC homework!

Then this afternoon my favorite friend, Savannah came over to help me make decorations for my birthday party! I also let her have the last mini pizza crust! :]

I've strung them together and they're hanging on the wall in the living room for me to marvel at until my party! I ABSOLUTELY FREAKING LOVE THEM! I kiiiiinda want to make just one more row, but I know if I do I'll have to go out and buy some paper because I don't think have enough. Next week we'll be working on yarn balloon thingies! I'm really looking forward to having decorations this year for my party! I really want to have THESE, but I don't know if I want to ask V to get them for me because he's already doing so much for my party!

After Savannah left I worked on turning one of V's old t-shirts into something similar to this, but I don't have anything to tie dye with, so it's just gray, and it's not totally the same...like at all, but I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt!

It would be cool if It could be longer, like short beach dress length, but I have no clue what'd I'd use to make one that long!

RAOK Day 14: Got Water for V

You know when you're eating dinner and your significant other runs out of their drink? And doesn't directly ask you for a refill, but you can just feel it lingering in the air? I sighed big, and got up to get him a refill. As small as it may sound, you have no idea how much I just didn't want to get up. You're welcome, V, I hope your palate was moistened well.

Today we celebrated my Aunt Pam's 57th birthday with her. I can't even remember the last time I saw her IRL, maybe like 7 years ago? So it was nice that she could be here to celebrate!

RAOK Day 13: Some More Dishes!

My dear cousin invited us over for some of her delicious crock pot spaghetti for dinner, so after yogs, we got cleaned up and headed over there to eat dinner! After we ate, I did the dishes for her :]

RAOK Day 12: Sweet! Cupcakes

Today I surprised V with a random act of cupcake! I went out to Waterford Lakes with my bff, Savannah, and we got cupcakes at Sweet! I decided to get 2 minis for me, and 2 minis for V :] He was happily surprised!

I got myself two white raspberry minis, because I love them so much, and V a cookies n' cream, and a Boston creme!

MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 11 DAYS, Y'ALL!!!!!!

RAOK Day 11: Kindness for a Friend

After my party at Freshfields, I went to Savannah's house to help her with an assignment for school. I helped her with that (but it was more like moral support!), and I straightened her hair for her because she always likes when I do it, because I get it the straightest!

Hope you had a good day today, blog! I did NO schoolwork all day...didn't even log into BB! I need to get on top of that tomorrow!

Freshfields Loot!

Early this afternoon I took a trip to Freshfields Farm to get some produce and meats. I'm so thrilled with my purchases, I just had to share them with you!

In the produce department I got a huge bunch of spinach for $1.50, a huge bunch of green leaf lettuce for only $1.11, half of a watermelon for $3.49, TWO crates of strawberries for just $4.00! And a cantaloupe for only $2.50! With tax, I spent a mere $12.60 on all of those delicious items!

Then in the meat department I went a little HAM! It was freaking awesome! I got a huge pack of ground beaf, 1.42 pounds for $4.62, 1.10 pounds of chicken tenderloins for only $3.66 (and they're vegetarian fed!), 1.13 pounds of salmon for ONLY $6.43! This was my favorite purchase because it's my FAVORITE meat, but we never got to eat it often because for just a pound, it was TEN DOLLARS at our local Publix! Salmon will now be back in our regular dinner menu and I'm so excited! And lastly, I got 1.53 pounds of Italian sausage for $5.09! Spending a total of $19.80 in that department. All of these meats are going to last us around a week and a half, maybe even two weeks! 

I love that place!!!!

RAOK Day 10: Breakfast for My V

This morning I took V out to breakfast! We tried somewhere I've never been before, and he's never been for breakfast; Brian's Restaurant. I was going to link their website, but apparently they don't have one...strange! But it was quite delicious! We got some "Bubba Oatmeal" to start with, which was oatmeal with maple syrup, brown sugar, some sort of nut, and bananas. I'm not much for oatmeal, but it was pretty delicious! Then I got the short stack with one scrambled egg and sausage, and V got a Mexican omelet! Everything had good flavor, generous portions, and very reasonably priced! We will definitely be going back there again...I'd like to try their lunch too!

This afternoon we went to his grandparent's house to have lunch and celebrate his grandpa's 81st birthday! It was nice to see them, and V's parents and other family. Usually we only all get together like that for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it was nice to see everyone in the middle of the year too! I brought some of my chocolate chip cookies and they were a hit! And yes, in case you're wondering, this is the third batch I've made of those cookies since I found the recipe, what was it...last weekend? Lol.

Now we're home, hanging out for the rest of the night!

RAOK Day 9: Froyo

This evening I babysat my two favorite girls. After dinner I surprised them with a trip to Yogurtland to treat them to some froyo!

Surprise froyo makes for two happy young ladies! The oldest one is going to be in FIFTH grade this year; I cannot believe it! And the younger one will be in second! When I started babysitting them, the younger one couldn't even talk! She was only a mere 8 months old! Now I'm lucky if she is quite for 10 minutes straight! It's so great being able to see them grow up. I can't believe how long I've known this family, and how much I've grown to love those girls!

Reading Mockingjay! About half way through. Planning to finish this week. 

I can't believe I'm about to say this, blog, but I think I'm really into reading. Yep. There it is. I'm looking forward to picking up a new book when I'm done with Mockingjay....I just don't know what! Maybe I'll actually put my library card to good use this summer!

RAOK Day 8: Donation to Shand's Hospital [+ National BFF Day!]

Me and Savannah have been hanging out ALL DAY! It's been fabulous! We had breakfast at Chick-Fil-A, and then went to my cousin's bf's house to visit with his mom, who is an interpreter! Then we came back to my house and ate lunch and took naps! After our naps, we decided to make cookies, but I needed a few ingredients, so we took a trip to Publix, where I donated a dollar to Shand's Hospital for Children!

When we got back to my house we made our chocolate chip cookies...

Now we're hanging out, watching Twilight <3!

It's been a wonderful Friday with my wonderful friend...Happy National BFF Day, Blanket!!!!!! I'm so happy that we're friends!

RAOK Day 7: Good Karma

Today after my yoga class I was putting on my rainboots so my feet wouldn't get wet in this rainy weather , and there were a few girls left in the lobby who were searching for a pair of keys that this one girl thought she lost. She said they were in her cubby and now they're missing. She got a little panicked, and one of the girls suggested she looked up front, to see if maybe someone turned them in. I asked her where she lived, to offer her a ride home, but she said "near UCF", while walking away to the front; kind of rude-like. But I offered! 

Then I stayed for a few extra minutes to talk to my favorite yoga instructor, Greg, and gave him some lovely compliments on his teaching! :]

I ALSO GOT NEW GLASSES TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really diggin them! The prescription is also stronger, so on top of seeing different specs on my face for the first time in over 6 years, I'm also adjusting to being able to see MUCH better!

RAOK Day 6: Clean Room

I'm babysitting tonight and while Ryan was watching Scooby Doo in the other room, I cleaned his bedroom for him!

RAOK Day 5: Dishes Washed!

Today while I was babysitting this little sweetheart so her mom could go to her brother's end of the year party at school, I decided to wash the dishes that were in the sink so her mom wouldn't have  to worry about it when she got home, because I know she's busy!

I put them away too, of course!

RAOK Day 4: Organized Surprise!

I got all of V's collared shirts together and organized them so he knew where all of his work shirts were in the wee hours of the morning when he gets ready for work. Not huge, but it's something!

RAOK Day 3! Surprise Car Wash

This afternoon I went out to wash my car while V and his brother were out fixing something on his brother's truck. After I finished washing my car, I decided to surprise V and wash his truck for him!

Now we're watching the MTV Movie Awards and Russell Brand is hosting and I really don't like this guy. 

This is me watching his opening announcement for the Movie Awards. It's only been on for 16 minutes and I'm already SO SICK of his voice! And his sad attempts to be funny.

Chocolate Chip Cookies!

I have yet to find a good, easy, fool-proof recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I had a recipe a couple years ago and loved it, but the cookies always baked very inconsistently. Sometimes they were perfect, but the majority of the time they turned out too thin and crispy and I could never figure out why because I never did anything different! I like my chocolate chip cookies thick and fluffy and this recipe I found gave me just that! And they taste delicious!

I Google-d "easy chocolate chip cookie recipe" or something along those lines, and the first thing that popped up was Miss...In the Kitchen's blog. I read her recipe, made sure I had all the ingredients in my pantry, and whipped them up! I heeded her warning about chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking, to ensure they were fluffy, and they were! They're great and I highly recommend her recipe if you're looking for an easy chocolate chip cookie recipe. I'll definitely be using this recipe again...and again...and again! Thank you, Miss!

An Extra RAOK!

This evening I ran out to get the dogs some food because they were out. When I parked in the parking lot, this girl, around my age, clean, in a dress, approached me asking me for a few bucks in cash because her car just ran out of gas and she's on her way to work.

Normally if I were approached by someone asking me for money, I tell them I don't have any cash. I knew I had three dollars in my wallet, so I pulled it out and gave it to her. She thanked me a lot and then left.

I've been inspired!

RAOK Day 2: Grass Cut (& A Trip to the Beach!)

This morning me, my sister and my cousin went to the beach! We had a lovely time and enjoyed some beautiful weather, followed by a delicious lunch at Rusty's! 

V went golfing while we were at the beach, and he told me that when he got home he wanted to cut the grass. I kindly insisted on cutting the front yard for him while he did the weed-eating and edging, so we could get it done quicker! That's me there in the top left corner, cutting the grass! When V started working on the backyard, he spotted our first crepe myrtle blooming! I was very excited, and I hope this inspires our others to bloom, because I really want them all pretty and colorful for my birthday party!

I hope everyone else enjoyed their Saturday as much as I did! We have nothing planned for the night, so we're going to spend the evening in! :]

RAOK Day 1: Hey, Mr. Postman!

Well today I left a note, a piece of candy, a bottle of water, and an umbrella for my mailman. I thanked him for always delivering our mail, and putting our large packages under our carport.

After he came I went out to see if we had any mail and found that he had only taken the note and the candy, but left the bottle of water and umbrella! Oh well...I tried, and half way succeeded!

This afternoon I went to hang out with my Deaf friend, Jessica. We spent a few hours together at her house and when I left, I realized how tired my eyes were! 

So when I got home I rested my eyes before going to yogs. I know, it's not my normal day for yoga, but my usual Monday night was cancelled because of the holiday, so I made up for it today!
